Immersive Training
Immersive Training
Many law-enforcement departments cannot adequately replicate actual threat scenarios for training purposes because of technology and/or budget limitations. Threat Dynamics' training facilities allow real-world training in a simulated environment that is closer to the actual situations police – and the military – encounter than ever before, all within current training budgets.
Conventional single-screen simulators do not expand or stimulate officer awareness to his or her surroundings. In fact, many instructors feel the industry is encouraging "tunnel vision" by having the trainees focus on a screen directly in front of them. Utilizing the technology available at Threat Dynamics facilities allows officers to
- Train to avoid tunnel vision, reducing surprise attack.
- Train under many more scenarios than ever before, all HD (high-def) and all alterable in real-time.
- Train for multiple threats from all quarters.
- Build rapid target-acquisition and engagement skills from 0 to 300 degrees.
- Train for response and decision-making through the entire force spectrum-from compliance to LTL (including OC and TASER) to lethal force.
While our Threat Alley screens provide the best flat-screen training in the world, the centerpiece of our immersive training is the Threat Arena room. Here, five 10 x 10-foot screens surround up to six officers at one time, and – combined with surround sound, a specially designed vibrating sound stage, and biofeedback in the form of actual recoil and the ability to feel return fire – create an environment where officers are fully immersed in training like never before.
To enhance the realism of operations, commands can be issued to the trainee from the commanding officer, flash-bangs can be deployed, trainees can utilize night-vision devices, and the training officer can change the scenarios in real-time.
With today's added responsibilities as the first line of defense in Homeland Security protection, the already awesome challenges facing today's law enforcement officer become even more apparent. Threat Dynamics provides unparalleled training for the unpredictable nature of threats facing law enforcement officers in today's cities, suburbs and rural communities.
Real-world training should mirror potential real-world situations where threats can come from all sides. This is what our facilities provide.
Training Rooms
Classrooms
Our facilities provide a classroom for orientation and education, if needed by the department or agency, along with a mat room. Classrooms are equipped with full digital A/V capabilities.
Threat Arena Rooms & Threat Alley Rooms
The Threat Alley rooms contain 10 x 12 screens and can accommodate up to four officers per screen in a training or fireline scenario. The Threat Arena rooms have five 10 x 10 screens in a hexagonal pattern (the instructor's desk is in the open area). Although Threat Alley rooms provide more-realistic and more-valuable flat-screen training than you have ever experienced before, Threat Arena rooms provide the highest degree of realistic training possible. They truly simulate the real world.
Marksmanship Scenarios
Officers can develop basic, intermediate and advanced marksmanship skills using the simulators. The software provides PPC, IDPA, IPSC, Survival and department-specific qualification courses. Authoring capabilities allow training officers to develop and tailor scenarios to your department’s specific needs.
Real-World Marksmanship Scenarios
Our Real World Marksmanship Scenarios replicate moving and partially exposed targets, which build rapid sight-acquisition and engagement skills. Trouble can unfold very quickly, and this type of training should improve street-survival skills.
Judgmental Training Scenarios
Judgmental Training is accomplished with incredibly realistic scenarios, many based on real-life events. The versatility of branching scenarios allows training in response and decision-making through the entire force spectrum – from compliance, through LTL (including OC and TASER), to lethal force. Scenarios can be tailored to your specific policies.
Shoot-House Scenarios
Shoot-House scenarios give you the training benefits of a Shoot-House at a fraction of the cost. Practice room-clearing as an individual or in teams, door breaches, and door and window entries. A large selection of building and room layouts combined with the ability to simulate low-light conditions make for the most realistic and safe Shoot-House training possible.
Scenario Analysis
Importantly, every scenario – including marksmanship courses – can be recorded, played back, reviewed, scored and graded, either that day in the classroom or stored for later analysis.
Also, our Aim Trace technology shows the instructor and officers where a muzzle is pointing the entire time, before, during and after firing.
Train With Your Tools
Train With Your Tools
Train with your threat tools: OC, TASER, your duty weapon, shotgun, AR-15. You can use them all with this technology.
Our tetherless recoil kits simulate the recoil of live firing, and the proprietary Threat-Fire System ensures that trainees have the most realistic experience possible. The wireless Threat-Fire belt safely (no goggles required) simulates return fire with a 30-millisecond stun (adjustable up to 2.5 seconds). This makes for more realistic training – trainees' hands sweat, they become anxious, and they enter a mental state as if in a life-or-death situation.
All of this adds up to the most-realistic training on the planet.
